Purple provides new and much-needed colour interest for autumn 08. It was seen almost everywhere, either used as a highlight or block colour on knitwear, shirting, ties and jackets.

The good news is that ithe shade is eminently wearable and complements the UK skin tone. It will be a gift to store merchandisers because it will provide interest on the rails and lift the ubiquitous greys. The colour palette stretched from a rich regal tone to muted mauves

A technical sporty look was evident across outerwear and some suit jackets. There were quilted down filled bomber jackets and three quarter length coats as well as a smattering of  luxury look Cagouls. It was a trend that smacked either of the ski resort or the casual urbanite.

Some brands had taken a different approach to the look using  technical treatments to invest classical garments with functional properties. Truly technical fabrics and fibres including bonded wools and Selup added value by enhancing the performance of a garment.
